Town and Village Community Plans
Next year Blayney Shire Council will be reviewing and preparing a new 10 year Community Strategic Plan. In preparation for this, over the past 2 years Council facilitated the completion of individual Town and Village Community Plans all finalised by late 2016.
The Community Plans, have been prepared based upon feedback and ideas provided in consultation with village committees and individuals proactive in undertaking improvements in their part of the shire. These plans are living documents and will be reviewed next year before the Blayney Shire Community Strategic Plan.
Strategies include a range of tourism, heritage, cultural, public infrastructure, economic development and environmental based projects. Resources require anything from a weekend of volunteers pitching in to complete a small job right through to the aspirational multi level of government funded infrastructure upgrade.
The Village Plans will require communities to work together, to raise funding and/or to identify grants that could enable delivery of agreed projects. They will build stronger communities and set a positive direction for the community’s future development, tourism opportunities and beautification. Council is supporting the village committees to focus and work collaboratively to deliver community outcomes.
