Media Release - Blayney Farmers' Market return for Spring

Well known for its friendly, community atmosphere and down to earth style with homemade treats, good coffee and regional produce, the monthly Blayney Farmers’ Market returns to Carrington Park Blayney, this Sunday 16 September 2018 from 9am-1pm.

Now with new local hosts, the Rotary Club of Blayney has volunteered to continue to deliver the event every third Sunday of the month on behalf of the community.

Blayney Shire Mayor, Scott Ferguson was delighted to see the return of the Blayney Farmers’ Market which is now a signature event on the Blayney Shire calendar.

“The Blayney Farmers’ Market has grown into an event which attracts widespread interest from locals and visitors alike from across Blayney and Villages and from across the region,” Cr Ferguson said.

“People enjoy the friendly community feel that it offers and a chance to socialise and connect with others in the community,” he said.

The market supports local businesses and farmers by offering local and home grown produce, preserves, jams, honey and other products and services to encourage growth of our local economy.

Blayney Rotary representative, Miles Hedge along with his team of volunteers are excited about hosting the Blayney Farmers’ Market and encouraged everyone to come along this Sunday.

“Everyone is invited to come along to see what we have on offer this Sunday for the return of the Blayney Famers’ Market. There will be some of your old favourite stalls and plenty of new stalls including Jed and Ginger, Dapper Chocolates, Franklin Road Preserves, Nellie Ryans, Bell River Estate, Honeysuckle Farms, Whispers from the Woods, Pitt & George, Floral Touch and more.

“The children’s art and craft corner will be back, as well as face painting, entertainment for the whole family in a relaxed, tranquil setting in the heart of Blayney.

“The Rotary Club of Blayney recognises that many of our local farmers are in drought and the usual abundance of fresh local produce in our region is scarce, however we encourage the community to come out and enjoy what promises to be a bustling market and wonderful community morning as we continue to support local businesses and farmers by shopping locally,” Mr Hedge said.

The Rotary Club of Blayney will also be supporting local farmers with a gold coin donation on the gate for Rural Aid.
