Media Release - Orange region Wine & Food guide 2018/2019 launched

Featuring the region’s cellar doors, wine trails, farm gates, retail, tours and produce

The Orange Region Wine & Food Guide 2018/2019 is launched in readiness for Christmas! Orange Region Tourism has launched the 5th edition of the guide which details local cellar doors, wine trails, wine retailers and farm gates and is key to the region’s wine, food and tourism marketing.

“The Orange Region Wine & Food Guide has become a highly sought after publication for visitors and residents alike,” says Caddie Marshall, General Manager, Orange Region Tourism.

“It’s a stunning representation of the combination of elements that make our region unique as a wine and food destination. No other NSW wine region can offer the selection of produce and farm gates to support our growing cellar doors and tours.”

The Orange region’s five major wine trails and maps have been updated this year to include several new cellar doors, Montoro Wines; Nashdale Lane, Swinging Bridge and Wallington, a new brewery – Pioneer Brewing Company, as well as a new tour operator in James’ Vineyard Tours.

New to this edition is a Directory matrix that allows visitors to view at a glance cellar door opening days, as well as their respective range of wines, onsite facilities and additional activities offered.

“Each time we develop a new guide we do so with the purpose of enhancing the visitor experience. In this edition, the team incorporated our Cycle Trails within the Orange District map to appeal to the growing cycling market,” explains Caddie.

“We want our visitors to drop into cellar doors, taste the difference in the region’s cool climate wines and learn why they so elegantly match our quality food offering. We want people to chat with our local producers and enjoy picking some fresh seasonal produce along the way including apples, cheese, cherries, honey, figs, garlic, hazelnuts, pears, preserves, venison and more.  All whilst exploring the stunning scenery our region has in abundance.”

The Orange Region Wine & Food Guide 2018/2019 is now available in hard copy at the Orange Visitor Information Centre. It is also available online on the Orange Region Tourism website
