Carcoar Showground will benefit from $14,500 in NSW Government funding to carry out maintenance works on the popular pavilion.

Minister for Lands and Forestry and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the main pavilion was regularly used by community groups as they showcase their skills and wares at local shows.

“Carcoar showground is a focal point of the local community, hosting a number of shows, functions and fundraisers each year,” Mr Toole said.

“At the end of next month, the grounds will host the 141th Carcoar Show, which will showcase metal art exhibitions, reptile awareness demonstrations and floral displays.

“The pavilion is often the ‘main stage’ for many of these great events and was built around 60 years ago.

“Urgent works will include replacing the guttering on the pavilion, replacing and repainting the fascia boards and trims to the gables at either end of the pavilion, and installing new windows to replace those which have broken.

“The project will help preserve the building and its history for generations to come.”

Mr Toole said the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund program was focussed on ensuring communities and visitors could continue to enjoy local land and facilities.

“This year we’ve made a record investment into Crown land with more than $20 million in grants and loans being provided across the state,” Mr Toole said.

To date, the NSW Government has invested $115 million across seven years into Crown land projects.

CRIF supports Crown reserve managers by providing funding for repairs and maintenance projects, pest and weed control, new recreational infrastructure and environmental initiatives.
