Donations and Electoral Expenditure

The Election Funding and Disclosures Act, 1981, requires copies of political donations and electoral expenditure disclosure declarations by Councillors to be furnished to the NSW Electoral Commission for inclusion on the Political Donations Register.

Councillors are required to lodge declarations every six months (ending June 30 and December 31), whereas the previous requirement was a single return following the ordinary Local Government election or a by-election. Pursuant to the Local Government Act, 1993 the General Manager is required to keep a public register of all current declarations lodged by Councillors with the authority (under Section 328A).

To view the register and for further information go to the NSW Electoral Commission website.
