Project List

  • Active Movement Strategy Projects - Through the NSW Government Resources for Regions and NSW Stronger Country Communities funding, shared pathways in Lyndhurst, Newbridge, Millthorpe, Carcoar and Blayney have been brought forward. Some projects have been completed with others planned for the 2023/24 financial year.
  • Barry Road - Barry Road is one of the Blayney Shire Local Road Improvements funded under the NSW Government Resources for Regions Round 9. The project is for the upgrade of the road to improve safety, drainage, and the resilience of the road network. This project is aiming for completion by November 2023
  • Belubula River Walk - The Belubula River Walk will provide shared access from Martin Street to Heritage Park, including pedestrian access via a new footbridge to an island which sits alongside the Belubula River, and with viewing platform decks for fishing and bird watching; and installation of a boardwalk along a closed road reserve part of the route. This project has four stages and has received funding from multiple sources and is now complete.
  • Browns Creek Road - Browns Creek Road is one of the Blayney Shire Local Road Improvements funded under the NSW Government Resources for Regions Round 9. The project includes safety upgrade to a section of road with a poor crash history, by the installation of a crash barrier and the widening of some shoulder areas to create a more forgiving road environment. This project is scheduled for 2024/25 Financial Year
  • Carrington Park Amenities Refurbishment - Funded by NSW Government Resources for Regions, this project includes the refurbishment of the public amenities at Carrington Park and construction of a disabled car park on Osman Street and installation of a smart hub system to enable monitoring, automatic opening and closing of the public facilities at both locations.
  • Forest Reefs and Tallwood Roads Intersection - Funded by NSW Government Resources for Regions, this project includes the re-design and reconstruction of the Forest Reefs and Tallwood Road intersection.
  • Forest Reefs Road - The Forest Reefs Road rehabilitation project aims to strengthen the key link between Millthorpe from Bathurst and Blayney through to Newcrest's Cadia Valley Operations (CVO) gold mine, by undertaking improvements on a poor section of a main arterial road. This project is expected to commence in January 2023 and be completed by October 2023.
  • Four Mile Creek Road: Swallow Creek Bridge - This project will involve the demolition of an existing 12.2m x 6.9m failing timber bridge with a non-structural concrete deck over Swallow Creek on Four Mile Creek Road, and the construction of new concrete bridge on a different alignment. The new bridge will be a 21m single span bridge with a width of 9m. The existing bridge will remain in service until the new bridge and associated road works are completed to maintain access.
  • Heritage Park Amenities Refurbishment - Funded by NSW Government Resources for Regions, this project includes the demolition and construction of new public amenities at Heritage Park, with the inclusion of a new adult disabled change room in addition to male, female and accessible toilets and installation of a smart hub system to enable monitoring, automatic opening and closing of the public facilities at both locations.
  • Heritage Pavement: Millthorpe Village - This project is the removal and replacement of failed pavement in the historic village of Millthorpe in and around the intersection of Victoria Street and Pym Street Millthorpe in accordance with the Millthorpe Village Centre MasterPlan 2022. This project is funded under the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Program.
  • Hobbys Yards Road - Hobbys Yards Road is one of the Blayney Shire Regional Road Improvements funded under the NSW Government Resources for Regions Round 9. The project includes rehabilitation of approximately 1.8km of Hobbys Yards Road will improve safety and road conditions for local residents, transport operators, contractors and the general public.
  • King George Oval Refurbishment Project - The project involves the refurbishment of the King George Oval and Blayney Netball Centre precinct to improve the safety, amenity and capacity of Blayney's premier sporting facility. It will link the facility with the Blayney shared path network, provide parking for larger sporting fixtures, provide a new scoreboard for all types of sports, new internal and external fencing and safety improvements to the existing grandstands and an upgrade to the grandstand.
  • Lucan Road Bridge - This project is the replacement of the existing timber bridge with a concrete deck over Limestone Creek on Lucan Road. It is funded by the NSW Government Fixing Country Bridges Program.
  • Masterplan & Detailed Designs for Blayney Shire - Council will develop a series of shovel ready projects for the beautification and accessibility upgrades of the Blayney Showground, and the Blayney and Millthorpe Town Centres, which will vastly improve the amenity of these areas.
  • Neville Road - The project involves heavy patching, widening and drainage upgrades to 1.2 kilometres of seriously failed pavement on Neville Road. The project involves the reinstatement of roadside drainage, replacement of 2 culverts, extension of 1 culvert, stabilisation of the existing pavement layer and the overlaying of a 200mm DGB20 base pavement layer and a two-coat seal.
  • Recycled Water Treatment Plant - The treatment plant which is to be approved by NSW DPIE will provide a suitable treatment process to deliver safe re-use water that can then be utilised on open spaces for irrigation and construction activities
  • Richards Lane - Richards Lane is one of the Blayney Shire Local Road Improvements funded under the NSW Government Resources for Regions Round 9. The project is for the upgrade of the road to improve safety, drainage, and the resilience of the road network.
  • Stabback & Unwin Street Kerb & Guttering - This project is to undertake the upgrade of urban drainage and road pavement in Stabback and Unwin Streets in Millthorpe, to address a lack of formalised drainage that has resulted in accelerated pavement deterioration.
  • Tallwood Road - Tallwood Road is one of the Blayney Shire Local Road Improvements funded under the NSW Government Resources for Regions Round 9. The project includes upgrade of road to improve safety, drainage, and the resilience of the road network.
