Project Description:

The Forest Reefs Road rehabilitation project aims to strengthen the key link between Millthorpe from Bathurst and Blayney through to Newcrest's Cadia Valley Operations (CVO)gold mine, by undertaking improvements on a poor section of a main arterial road.

The proposed works is a 1.6km section of Forest Reefs Road on the western edge of the Village of Millthorpe from the end of the 50km/hr zone. The project will include the realignment of a series of corners that currently generate poor lane positioning for motorists, to widen the road from 7m to 9m, provide a new base to strengthen the pavement, and new wearing surface. Culvert structures will be extended to the required width, and electrical relocation works undertaken to remove poorly located power poles.
Other road safety furniture including road safety barriers, pavement line marking and signage shall also be installed in accordance with the construction plans and specifications
