Blayney ready to grow with new residential land for sale

It has been almost a decade since the Blayney township has had new residential blocks available for home construction.  With the official launch of Streatfeild Close land development on Tuesday 21 May, 14 new residential blocks close to King George Oval, Schools and town centre are available for sale. Mayor, Scott Ferguson has officially unveiled the off plan release for Streatfeild Close located off 32 Plumb Street.

The sale of the blocks will provide greater housing opportunities for both current and future residents to build their dream home on affordable parcels of land right near the centre of town.

Blayney Shire Mayor Scott Ferguson said Council has been proactive in considering and taking the lead on facilitating the town to grow. “It’s been a long time since we have had residential development available in Blayney and given the strong demand for residential blocks there should be a lot of interest in the new estate.”

A budget for this project has been approved in the 2018/19 Operational Plan of $1.32m; to be funded by external borrowings, which includes the original land purchase expense.  Council was successful in receiving support from the NSW Government’s Low Cost Loan Initiative (LCLI) for a 50% interest subsidy.  The LCLI program aims to support local government borrowings for infrastructure that enables new housing supply, allowing Councils to bring forward delivery of planned infrastructure in new housing areas.

The blocks are located just 1km from the main street and even closer to schools providing the perfect location for new homeowners.

“Blayney is a great place to live and we are excited to provide more people with the opportunity to build a home and be part of a rural and family friendly community” said Cr Ferguson.

There are 14 blocks available ranging from 838m² to 1095m² and will all have access to NBN, underground power and sewage in close proximity to town centre. Civil construction works will commence in early August, and the blocks are scheduled to be ready for building at the end of 2019.

The naming of the street was put to public vote in March this year with Streatfeild Close been the most popular named after Cr George Streatfeild who was Mayor of the former Lyndhurst Shire Council from 1905 – 1911.

Local real estate agents have been appointed joint sales agents for land release enquiries and includes Blayney Real Estate, Hill and Crofts Blayney Real Estate, Kennedy Ready Estate, Ray White Emms Mooney and PR Masters Stephens and Co.
