Cabonne Council coordinates After School or Out Of School Hours (OOSH) care services within the Blayney Shire.

Details of services provided are as follows:

Blayney

Blayney After School Hours Care Service is licensed for to care for school children from 5 years of age on an after school hours basis.

The After School Care Service operates during the school terms, excluding public holidays. The afternoon session is available from 3.00pm - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

Staff meet children from Blayney Public school and arrangements can be made for staff to meet buses from neighbouring schools.

Millthorpe

Millthorpe's After School Hours Care Service is licensed to care for school children from 5 years of age on an after school hours basis.  The After School Care Service operates during the school terms, excluding public holidays. The afternoon session is available from 3.00pm - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

Children are collected by staff from Millthorpe Public School and arrangements can be made for staff to meet buses from neighbouring schools.

Aims

To acknowledge the uniqueness of each and every child and uphold the right for them to feel safe, understood and respected in our environment, valuing the diversity that each child and their family brings to our service.
To provide an affordable quality childcare program for school aged children within a secure and happy environment that reflects the needs of the families.

  • Children are welcomed daily by staff at each centre, are provided with afternoon tea, supervised with homework if it is the family's request and invited to participate in experiences and activities that include sports, games, arts, crafts, cooking and more in an environment that promotes social skills and friendship.
  • Parents are always welcome at centres to visit or to spend time with their children and community members are encouraged to visit and share their skills and experiences to enhance the children's time in care.
