Average weekly income levels vary significantly between industry sectors. Those sectors offering higher salaries tend to result in more disposable income for workers.
Industries that offer the most in terms of salaries are listed below in Table 5.0. Higher salaries suggest higher levels of disposable income which can be spent locally. Opportunities therefore exist in areas such as retail and recreation for example which absorb this disposable income. This data also highlights the importance of encouraging the expansion and relocation of industries that offer these higher salaries due to the economic flow-on effect that results from high disposable income.
