- Local Studies and Family History resources and
- A Ready Reference collection suited to homework and general needs.
Library staff can also undertake research for information not available through the library's general collections and arrange for the loan of specific books or articles available at other libraries (for more information see FAQ's).

Blayney Shire Local and Family History Group Inc.
In 1992, a small group of dedicated volunteers, concerned that no archive of local historical records existed which covered the entire Blayney Shire area, joined together to promote the collection and preservation of local information, records and material.
Their secondary aim was to encourage and promote interest in local and family history research. Thus began the Blayney Shire Local and Family History Group Inc.
Since its formation, the group has been active in building a valuable local genealogical and historic record centre which is located at the:
