Council has issued Development Consent for the Stage 2 of Blayney library upgrades for the alterations and additions to the existing library building.  The proposed extension incorporates the existing library space to be re-configured with an additional floor area to rear of the existing structure.

The new floor area of the development will equate to 398.45m² which importantly will meet the NSW State Library People Places guidelines for planning a new library and includes a new addition at the rear of the current building, of 235m² of library collection space, a storeroom, work room and meeting room; the re-configuration of the existing library space for a meeting room (including the Family History Group), archives, kitchen, store room and amenities; glazed airlock to the building entrance; new covered awning, pavement and gardening landscaping.
