Planning an Event
Blayney Shire Council is committed to working with organisations and community groups to deliver safe, accessible, well-managed and well-promoted events.
If you are conducting a Public Event you must complete an Event Management Application in accordance with the Blayney Shire Event Planning Guide. Requirements for events can vary based on the location, size and nature of the event. We advise anyone planning an event within Blayney Shire contact Council as early as possible to provide tailored advice about your event and what is required for it to go ahead.

Event Planning Guides and Assistance
- Event Planning Guide: Blayney Shire Council has an Event Planning Guide to assist with event planning, in particular Council requirements, download it here.
- Accessible and Inclusive Events: The NSW Government has also developed a toolkit for accessible and inclusive events. You can download it here.
- Road Closures: Transport for NSW has prepared a fact sheet to assist organisers of events in NSW, to understand the traffic and transport management requirements, when planning special events.
- Promotion: To help with the promotion of your event you can complete our event promotion form.
- Funding: Depending on the event, you may be eligible for a funding grant through the Tourism Development Program or reimbursement of Council fees and charges through the Community Financial Assistance Program.
