Asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous silicate mineral. It becomes a health risk when asbestos fibres are released into the air and breathed in.

Blayney Waste Facility

Blayney Shire Council operates the Blayney Waste Facility (BWF) located on the Mid-Western Highway just outside of Blayney. This facility is available to all ratepayers.

Waste Collection

Forgot when your bins are due to be emptied? Simply enter your residential address to get the week your waste / recycling should be picked up for your property. Your red-lid waste bin is collected every week and your yellow-lid recycling bin is collected on alternate fortnights as indicated on the collection calendar below.

Bulky Waste Collection

Every year Blayney Shire Council has a kerbside Bulky Waste Clean-up for all residents currently receiving a domestic waste and recycling collection service.

Household Chemical CleanOut

The safe way to dispose of potentially hazardous household chemicals is at a Household Chemical CleanOut event. You can take household quantities of the following household chemicals and items – up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item. Acceptable items include pesticides and herbicides, pool chemicals, poisons, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, motor oils, car and household batteries.
