The Blayney Shire Australia Day Awards recognise outstanding achievement and excellence in the local community, and highlights the importance of service to the Australian nation. Being nominated for an Australia Day Award is a great honour, and is therefore a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to someone who makes you proud to be an Australian. Nominations for the 2025 awards are now open with nominations closing at 8am on Monday 25 November 2024.
Citizen of the Year
A person who, in their vocational, voluntary or other activities, provided meritorious and noteworthy contribution to the Blayney Shire.
Young Citizen of the Year
A person under the age of 25 who, in their vocational, voluntary or other activities, provided meritorious service to the community.
Sporting Achievement Award
A person who has had a major sporting achievement.
Volunteer of the Year
A person who, in their voluntary activities has provided meritorious service to an organisation and or fundraising cause.
Blayney Shire Appreciation Award
A person who has made an influential or valuable contribution the community.
Community Event of the Year
A local organisation that has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
All individual nominees will be considered for the Citizen of the Year
