Additional Info |
What is the difference between hard and soft plastics? Why can I recycle glass bottles and jars but not other types of glass? Why can't disposable coffee cups be recycled? Why are plastic bags not accepted in the recycling bin? What is a Materials Recovery Facility? What should I do with my old household batteries? What happens to my waste once the bins are collected? Why can't I recycle good quality clothes and toys in the yellow lid bin?
Join this free workshop to have these and all your other Waste and Recycling questions answered.
Find out what waste should go where, and why it matters, by uncovering exactly what happens to the materials post-collection. We will talk about all things plastics (the good, the bad and the ugly) and uncover why soft plastics in recycling bins is such an issue. You will learn about some of the social, economic and environmental impacts that excessive consumption, waste generation and incorrect disposal behaviours are having; understand the importance of considering waste as a resource; and find out about the approaches being taken by Blayney Shire Council to manage waste effectively and sustainably now, and for future generations.
