Call for Photographers: Capture the Essence of Blayney Shire

The Blayney Shire Visitor Information Centre and Blayney Shire Council are excited to announce an open call for photographers to participate in a special photography and tourism promotions project. This project aims to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of Blayney Shire through captivating images. Whether you're a professional photographer or a passionate amateur, we invite you to submit your best shots of our region.

The Blayney Shire Information Centre is operated by the Blayney Shire Arts and Craft Council Inc. and works in partnership with and is funded by Blayney Shire Council.

What We're Looking For:

  • We are seeking high-quality photographs that capture the essence of the Blayney Shire. This includes heritage buildings, notable attractions, stunning landscapes, and any scenes that highlight the uniqueness and beauty of our area.
  • A small number of photos will be selected for limited commercial use for a postcard project to be sold at the Blayney Visitor Information Centre with proceeds going to the volunteer organisation, the Blayney Shire Arts and Craft Council Inc.
  • Additional photos will be selected for non-commercial promotional purposes for the Blayney Shire e.g. brochures, social media, websites, media releases, photo slideshow in information centre, Council reports and plans.

Guidelines:

  • Originality: Photographs must be original and taken by the person submitting them.
  • Permission: Any photos taken on private property must have written permission from the landowner or photos with identifiable persons must have written permission of the subject.
  • Location: All photos must be within the Blayney Shire.
  • Drone Use: Drone photos must adhere to drone use rules and regulations.
  • Artificial Intelligence: No photos with AI will be accepted.

$200 per photo, royalty free

Image Consent Terms

Image consent will be required for use of printing postcards to be sold in the Blayney Shire Visitor Information Centre, with proceeds going towards the Blayney Shire Arts and Craft Council

Image consent will be required for use of promotion of the Blayney Shire in collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as Blayney Shire Council, Orange360, Central NSW Tourism and Destination NSW.

Projects can include but not be limited to brochures, visitor guides, websites, slideshow in information centre, social media, Council reports and plans.

Photographer Credit

Photographer credit will be included on the postcard

Photographer credit will be used where possible

Committee Review: A selection committee will review all submissions and choose the photographs to be featured and which project/s they will be used for.

Submission Guidelines:

  • How to Submit: Submissions should be made online via the form below.
  • Deadline: Photos need to be submitted by Sunday 2 June 2024.
  • Photo Specifications: Colour, high-resolution images will be required at the completion of the project, EOIs only require a web-sized image to be supplied. Preferably in landscape format however some portrait photos may be considered. Postcards will need be cropped to 4” x 7” for final production at the committee’s discretion.
  • Maximum: Each photographer can submit up to 6 photos each.
