Carcoar Awarded Top Tourism Town Award

Carcoar has been named NSW’s Top Tiny Tourism Town for 2022, voted by the public and industry as the state’s most compelling destination for an outstanding visitor experience.

The awards are managed by the NSW Tourism Industry Council, and celebrate towns with a population under 1,500, between 1,500 and 5,000, and a population over 5,000 residents with Berry and Mudgee taking out these awards.

NSW Tourism Industry Council Executive Manager, Greg Binskin. said “Carcoar was praised as a wonderful piece of living history and a brilliant place to recharge the batteries, step back to yesteryear and immerse in local hospitality.

Blayney Shire Mayor, Scott Ferguson couldn’t be happier with the result and is proud of what the village has achieved.

“Carcoar is such a wonderful village that has been thriving over the last few years, and this award is a testament to the work of the businesses and organisations in Carcoar,” said Cr Ferguson.

General Manager of Orange360, Caddie Marshall was delighted with the result.

“What a huge outcome for Carcoar, this award demonstrates the power of collaboration within a village and the broader region. From little things, big things grow.”

“Congratulations to the entire village, all the tourism operator and Blayney Shire Council on this award.”

Submissions for the award included a short video, itinerary and editorial which was reviewed by a judging committee of 10 industry experts. The public then had their say, with more than 12,000 people casting a vote for their Top Tourism Town.

Carcoar, Berry and Mudgee will represent NSW at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards to be held later in the year.
